Waldan has an incredibly interesting history with the founder having been taught watchmaking as a young man at the Buchenwald concentration camp during WWII. He was able to use his status as a watchmaker's apprentice to survive and gain preferential treatment. Following the war, he built up his business and client base to become a true force to be reckoned with in the industry, going as far as to be the person who convinced Rolex to utilize the famed El Primero in its new line of Daytonas.
